Duties of Authors

Authorship. The authors of papers submitted to Transformations and Sustainability should be limited to those who (i) have contributed to the research reported in the paper and (ii) contributed to writing of the paper. In case there is anyone contributing to either (i) or (ii) only, they can only be acknowledged for assistance in the paper. The authors must approve mutual responsibility for published material. All the authors must approve the final version of the paper. The authors confirm that they follow the COPE guidelines on authorship. The authors must be familiar with journal licensing policy. The authors must provide their actual and correct affiliations and contact details.

Changes in authorship. The authors must approve the author list (including order and designations of authors). Only in exceptional circumstances will the Editorial Board consider written requests by the corresponding author to change the author list, order or designation of the authors. Such requests must have a clear explanation requiring respective changes as well as the approval of all the authors involved (i.e., both included and removed authors). The approval may be presented as an email letter or a written statement signed by the authors involved.

Originality. The submissions are assumed to be original contributions by the authors. Any (re)use of the previously published material must be properly acknowledged. The authors are responsible for obtaining permissions for the perusal of the previously published material. The journal uses plagiarism detection system iThenticate. The authors must confirm that the manuscript has been submitted solely to this journal and has not been published elsewhere. Duplicate submissions are not allowed and will be rejected without review. In case there has been a preprint published the authors are asked to append a note indicating that the preprint has appeared as paper in the journal. The authors must confirm that their contributions are original and do not infringe copyright. The authors are responsible for any resulting claims from the third parties.

Funding and Conflicts of Interest. The funding sources must be acknowledged in the paper. In case there are financial or non-financial conflicts of interest, the authors must declare such interests in Conflicts of Interest section.

Informed Consent. In case the research reported in the submission involves collection of sensitive personal information about human participants, the authors are responsible for obtaining relevant permissions.

Data. The authors are responsible for storing and sharing research data unless these are confidential. The reviewers and Editorial Board may ask the authors to provide research data for replication during the submission handling.

Citations. The authors must ensure that all the references are cited in the text and vice versa. The authors are responsible for using appropriate and relevant sources only. The authors must properly acknowledge sources of any work reported in their submission. The journal follows APA citation style.

Corrections. In case of finding a typo or scientific shortcoming in an already published article, the authors may ask the Editorial Board to publish an erratum or corrigendum. Retractions may be announced for papers with scientific misconduct detected by the Editorial Board.

Fees. The journal does not require authors to pay Article Processing Fee or Submission Fee.

Artificial Intelligence (AI). The journal follows position stated by COPE viz., “AI tools cannot meet the requirements for authorship as they cannot take responsibility for the submitted work. As non-legal entities, they cannot assert the presence or absence of conflicts of interest nor manage copyright and license agreements. Authors who use AI tools in the writing of a manuscript, production of images or graphical elements of the paper, or in the collection and analysis of data, must be transparent in disclosing in the Materials and Methods (or similar section) of the paper how the AI tool was used and which tool was used. Authors are fully responsible for the content of their manuscript, even those parts produced by an AI tool, and are thus liable for any breach of publication ethics.” The use of images generated by the AI are discouraged by the journal.
